Europa

Flights are booked! It is official!! I will be traveling Europe mid-February to mid-March!

I'm meeting up with Hannah in Istanbul for a weekend, then we will head back to her stomping ground in Sliven, Bulgaria. We're flying out of Sofia, Bulgaria to make our way to Amsterdam, where Keelin will be meeting up with us! Hannah has to head back to work in Bulg, but Keelin and I will head to Berlin, Prague, Vienna, and Budapest before flying back home!

Endless amounts of excitement!! Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanksgiving

Murphy/MacDonald family Thanksgiving favors
Candy Corn, Oreos, Whoppers, Mini Reese, Twizzlers, & melted Kisses
It's been quite a while. The election is over, and I'm one federal filing away from finishing up my work for the campaign. I'm working seasonally doing email customer service at a company out of Portland through the holiday. Thanksgiving was relaxing, and it was nice to be with family-- we have SO much to be thankful for.

Planning adventures for the spring time. Heading to Istanbul, Bulgaria, and Amsterdam with Hannah, and then perhaps backpacking Central Europe? We shall see.

In the midst of applying to Boston University's Masters of Public Health program, with a concentration in International Health, with an emphasis on Sex, Sexuality, Gender an Health-- could any program better encapsulate all of my interests?! I've done most of the application I just need my recommendations, an essay, oh, and to take the GRE's.

Tour of Love: Washington, DC

With everything that has been going on, I decided that after the campaign ended I needed to make some time for myself, and my friends whom I have neglected during the chaotic election. For a normal person this would be easy, however, some of my friends like to splatter themselves anywhere but near me. No trip too short or too long, and I call it: The Tour of Love.

First Stop: Washington, DC to see Nat, Lauren, Zach, & Stan

The long weekend consisted of delicious food (homemade tacos, Indian, Mexican, pancakes, cupcakes), lots alcohol, napping, movies, Stanely (best cat ever), a touch of dancing, and a lot of laughing & love.

At the end of the weekend, Natalie and I packed up her car and made the trek from DC back to Maine. 10 states in a day, not too shabby.

Second Stop: Milford, CT to see Kristen

On our way home we made a pit stop in Connecticut to have dinner with Kristen. It was nice to get out of the car, catch up with Kristen, and we had a delicious dinner at a local bar! Doesn't get much better.

New York, New York

I could just be the luckiest lady in the world. Cynthia was honored at the Glamour's Women of the Year awards, and Kate & I got to go with her to NY!

It was a quick trip, but spectacular! We got to take a tour of the Glamour magazine office in Times Square with a group of the women politicians being recognized at the awards. The award ceremony itself was at Carnegie Hall, which is amazing enough, before it's filled up with celebrities and awe-inspiring women. Awardees included: Selena Gomez, Annie Leibovitz, Zaha Hadid, Lena Dunham, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Ethel & Rory Kennedy, Jenna Lyons, Erin Merryn, and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

Post awards, we went to a yummy dinner & back to the hotel to crash. The next morning Kate & I had time to explore the city, we went to Central Park, Rockefeller Plaza, Bryant Park, and Times Square. Then it was back to Maine!

Election Night

The election is over. It was called quick, and we were not victorious, but what a run (results here). I spent election day standing in the cold shaking voters hands in Sanford, Biddeford, and Brunswick. We spent the evening in the office with Cynthia's friends & family, and then headed into Bayside Bowl to join the Maine Dems. The campaign has been a life changing experience and I am so grateful for the wonderful opportunity I was given.
