Gay Marriage in Maine!

The first couple to get married!
The new marriage equality law in Maine came in to effect this morning at 12 AM. Oh, I have to catch a bus at 5 AM the same morning? I should definitely stay up way too late then. And that is what I did.

If you want to read an actual news story on the event, you can find that here. Keelin and I joined a crowd of at least 100 people outside of the city hall to watch as the first couples entered the city hall to be married. Everyone was so happy. I'm really glad we went. So proud to be from Maine.

Christmas with the Murphy/MacDonalds

Any time the whole family gets together never ceases to be entertaining, and Christmas is no exception. While not as extravagant as previous years, I think it was exactly what we needed. Instead of a weekend-palooza, we condensed the festivities into a day filled with present opening, Guinness, food, and of course a gingerbread house decorating contest (which clearly the girls won).

On actual Christmas I had to work in the evening, but it was nice to be just the four of us. Dad and I spent a good amount of time at the beach feeding seagulls in my new L.L. Bean boots. No complaints. We are very blessed.

Back to work

Seasonal employment woo! I'm working for a company in Portland that handles electronic gift cards for big retail stores like Best Buy and Starbucks. The bonus of the gig is I am only doing email customer service. No talking to angry customers, just emailing them.

As most of you probably could guess, I'll be working 40+ hours. See you after Christmas!
